VMS drum instructors are professional, licensed teachers with music degrees, extensive performance experience, and healthy voice training. A well-rounded teacher can provide a much deeper understanding of each student’s needs. Every drumming student is different, so lesson plans are customized to fit each student’s interests and learning style.
Parents of kids taking drum lessons may log in to the VMS student portal to track assignments and teacher notes for every lesson.

Every 6-8 weeks, every student has the option to play drums in front of an audience. All students are welcome, and participation is encouraged but always optional.

FAQ for Voice Lessons
Their first lesson will allow the drum teacher to assess and discuss readiness. The teacher will offer suggestions for effective entry into lessons.
No, you don’t need to have a drum set to start professional lessons. Practice pads will be fine at home, and your teacher will discuss what is best for you to purchase as you progress through your lessons. If sound and space are a problem at home, you can rent a VMS drum studio room to practice! Call a VMS office admin for more information.
For in-person drum lessons, masks are no longer required but are always honored. We also have them on hand, so if you want one, ask! If you prefer for your convenience, all lessons are available online. In addition, the COVID-certified iWave air scrubber is installed in our central air systems throughout the building, as well as many in-room air purifiers are also installed for sparkling, healthy, clean air!

Single Lessons
Schedule professional drum lessons whenever you want; online or in-person at our Columbus, Ohio facility. Schedule what you need, when you need it. These are great if you are looking for a quick brush-up on skills or if you seek feedback from an instructor. Advance purchase is required. Single lessons are $35 and are available for all lesson types and from all teachers.
